Our Chapter History

The Cardinal Chapter of National Charity League, Inc., formed in May, 2004 when seventeen mothers gathered at the home of Founding President, Carol Armstrong to begin their NCL adventure. The Cardinal Chapter, named for the North Carolina state bird, was the first Chapter based in Cary and the third Chapter in North Carolina.  In 2006 the Cardinal Chapter received its charter at the NCL, Inc., national conference in Scottsdale AZ, becoming the 104th chapter of National Charity League, Inc.

Cardinal quickly built relationships with community organizations and the Ticktockers (daughters) voted to wear pink t-shirts while participating in philanthropy events. Showing up en masse to volunteer in our community, we became affectionately known as the “Pink Ladies of NCL, Inc.”

What began as a handful of women interested in participating in a unique organization has blossomed into a thriving organization where women come together to serve our community while strengthening our relationships as mothers, daughters and friends.
